Movements Required to Put on a Seatbelt


Putting on your seatbelt. You probably do it every day, but do you do it correctly to avoid possible injury to your back, neck and shoulders? It might seem like a little thing, but with these tips, you can avoid the unnecessary issues that improper form can cause.


What do kinesiologists see?

  • Spinal Rotation, caused by core weakness and stiffness

  • Cervical Rotation, neck has a decrease in range of motion

  • External Rotation of Arm, caused by tightness in shoulder joint

  • Increased upper body mobility by lack of physical activity

Seated Twists

Rx: 3 sets of 8-12 repetitions

Benefits:

Increases range of motion in the upper body and muscular endurance

Variations:

With both or one arm out in front of you, reach towards the opposing side
